/ Luzy King

Luzy King is an award-winning Latina Wealth Coach. She became a first-gen investor after learning about investing and wealth building by accident through her MBA program in 2019. During the same year, Luzy was denied access to financial advice because she didn’t have $100K to start investing, and she made a commitment to learn things on her own and become the first one in her family to start investing. Now, she is passionate about teaching women of color all of the strategies she wishes someone would have taught her in school. Luzy is a certified trauma-informed Financial & Business Coach, contributing author, and Community Leader. Luzy is on a mission to destigmatize the idea of wanting more money, more money, and more options. She is ready to teach women of color how to build a legacy through stock market investing and entrepreneurship.

Welcome to the podcast! I’m thrilled to embark on this journey of financial empowerment with you, especially for all the first-gen Latinas out there navigating the complex terrain of money management and wealth building. Today, I want to dive into a powerful tool that has transformed my own relationship with money and that of countless others: writing a letter to money.

Benefits of Writing a Letter to Money:

1. Fostering Financial Awareness:

The simple act of putting pen to paper allows us to delve deep into our thoughts, emotions, and patterns surrounding money. As first-gen Latinas, many of us carry cultural beliefs and familial expectations that shape our relationship with wealth. Through personal anecdotes and reflective exercises, we uncover how financial unawareness can hinder our efforts to build generational wealth. By shining a light on our money mindset, we gain the clarity needed to navigate financial decisions with confidence and intentionality.

2. Identifying Limiting Patterns:

For many of us, money avoidance and self-doubt are deeply ingrained patterns that hold us back from reaching our full potential. By courageously confronting our money-related traumas and limiting beliefs, we empower ourselves to break free from cycles of shame and scarcity. Through vulnerability and introspection, we not only prioritize our own financial well-being but also pave the way for future generations to thrive.

3. Setting Intentional Boundaries:

Much like nurturing a friendship, setting boundaries with money is essential for cultivating healthy financial habits. We create space for mutual growth and empowerment by envisioning our ideal relationship with money. Whether it’s saying no to unnecessary expenses or prioritizing self-care and savings, setting intentional boundaries allows us to align our financial decisions with our values and goals.

When and How to Write Your Letter:

Timing is key when it comes to writing a letter to money. I encourage you to avoid moments of financial stress or negotiation and carve out dedicated time for reflection and expression. Consider scheduling a “money date” where you can focus solely on your relationship with finances, free from distractions and external pressures. By approaching the letter-writing process with intentionality, we create space for meaningful dialogue and self-discovery.

Treating money as a trusted friend, we embark on a journey of self-discovery and intentionality. Begin by expressing care and gratitude for the role money plays in your life, acknowledging both its blessings and challenges. From there, set clear goals and intentions for your financial future, outlining actionable steps to manifest your dreams. Don’t be afraid to embrace vulnerability as you uncover hidden patterns and beliefs that may be holding you back. Remember, each word penned is a step toward financial liberation and empowerment.

Writing a letter to money is more than just a practical exercise; it’s a transformative journey of self-discovery and empowerment. By fostering financial awareness, identifying limiting patterns, and setting intentional boundaries, we pave the way for a future of abundance and prosperity. I invite you to take the first step on this journey today and unleash your full financial potential. And remember, you don’t have to walk this path alone. Join me on the podcast as we continue to explore the power of money mindset and wealth building.
